Qualifying session report, Cadwell Park 12th May.

By Rod Birley

Intermarque cars A chilly but dry circuit greeted the 18 Intermarque drivers, most of whom had not seen Cadwell Park before.

After one lap the session was red flagged when the differential seized in Ray Harris' Mercedes. This necessitated a full lift to remove the stricken vehicle.

On the restart Brockhurst and Moore tracked fastest lap with Matt and Jeff Simpson next on the list. A marked two second improvement saw Luke Armiger leap up to fifth on his last lap, with Russell Humphrey just one tenth behind. The next three positions were filled by the Smith family, with Daniel from Richard and Lewis.

Returnee Baz Johnson completed the top ten with his revitalised Pontiac now running in HR trim. Blackman and Loram headed up row six, with Philip Young just pipping John Chasey's Caterham next. Mark Fuller had two spins at the bottom of the Mountain with his Mercedes, but was still quicker than Colin Gomm's version. Simon Smith pulled off early with his BMW, feeling like the same colour as his car. Finally Ray Harris managed to qualify out of session.
