BARC SEC: Ok green flags – lets go: how did your adventure with motorsport get started?
Russell Humphrey: Grew up around the ovals with dad racing Stock cars, Superstox, Hot rods and finally Super rods. My career started at Standlake arena in a Mini in the Prods then Autotesting moved into rallying then circuit racing winning the Castle Combe Saloons in 1998 and the Vectra V6 class of the Super Coupe Cup in 2001.

BS: You're behind the wheel of your Vauxhall Tigra. What is your dream racing car?
R.H.: Would love a go in a BTCC touring car.

BS: What is your dream motorsport event you want to take part in?
R.H.: Monaco Grand Prix.

BS: Hard braking now – are there any other sport disciplines you're familiar with?
R.H.: No time.

BS: Racing is on weekends – what are you doing weekdays?
R.H.: Electrician for SSE and looking after my race prep business Interceptor racing in the evenings.

BS: Who are your motorsport and non-motorsport heroes?
R.H.: Mick Collard, Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher.

BS: What are your expectations for 2013?
R.H.: Try and have some fun and get closer to the front.

BS: Very tricky corner now – imagine there are no cars in the world, what would you do?
R.H.: Spend a lot more time with my beautiful wife.

BS: And finish line – it's time for a drink. What's your favorite one?
R.H.: A pint of Stella Artois.
