Andrew Gibbons, Ford Fiesta driver in QMN Saloons Championship, class E, age 21.

BARC SEC: OK green flags – lets go: how did your adventure with motorsport get started?
Andrew Gibbons: I only started racing in 2013 after getting the bug doing track days in our MK2 RS2000. My first involvement with motorsport was maintaining the Orange Cosworth of Alan Phillips for the past few seasons.

BS: You're behind the wheel of your Ford Fiesta. What is your dream racing car?
A.G.: A well set-up Mk1/Mk2 Escort or a BTCC Focus.

BS: What is your dream motorsport event you want to take part in?
A.G.: A BTCC round on the 300 circuit at Snetterton.

BS: Hard braking now – are there any other sport disciplines you're familiar with?
A.G.: I play Football, allegedly, and am a Season ticket holder at West Ham United. So on reflection it’s only a vague familiarity.

BS: Racing is on weekends – what are you doing weekdays?
A.G.: I work for Redbridge Council as a Traffic Engineer whilst studying for a degree in Civil Engineering.

BS: Who are your motorsport and non-motorsport heroes?
A.G.: Motorsport - Jason Plato. Non-Motorsport – Alan Phillips.

BS: What are your expectations for 2014?
A.G.: To finish all the races, and continuing to learn as much as I can to become competitive.

BS: Very tricky corner now – imagine there are no cars in the world, what would you do?
A.G.: Walk – Any form of bike around London is a death trap!

BS: And finish line – it's time for a drink. What's your favorite one?
A.G.: JD and Coke please.

BS: Thanks and good luck.
