Ian Conibear, Caterham S3 driver in Sevenesque Sports Car Series, age 50.

BARC SEC: OK green flags – lets go: how did your adventure with motorsport get started?
Ian Conibear: Bought a seven type car in 2002 which lead me into track days, then started sprinting in 2004, but soon got the bug and took my ARDs in 2005.

BS: You're behind the wheel of your Caterham S3. What is your dream racing car?
I.C.: Formula 1 McLaren but that's not going to happen, would like to race an aero rear wheel drive car one day.

BS: What is your dream motorsport event you want to take part in?
I.C.: I like all Motorsport, not sure one single event would stand out, but I'm going to Barcelona next weekend with my wife to watch the F1 event. Also we are going to the Silverstone F1 GP as well. So have to say F1 GP.

BS: Hard braking now – are there any other sport disciplines you're familiar with?
I.C.: As a kid I played football, squash, cricket, badminton, sailing. At around 18 I gave up Football and Squash but continued sailing and took up Golf. To this day I have always played golf. I still play badminton sometimes as well to try and keep fit, not sure that's working LOL!

BS: Racing is on weekends – what are you doing weekdays?
I.C.: Director of my own Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Ventilation and Heating business.

BS: Who are your motorsport and non-motorsport heroes?
I.C.: Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell and Nick Faldo.

BS: What are your expectations for 2014?
I.C.: Stay healthy, earn plenty of money and lose some weight.

BS: Very tricky corner now – imagine there are no cars in the world, what would you do?
I.C.: Race a motorbike or start competitive sailing again.

BS: And finish line – it's time for a drink. What's your favorite one?
I.C.: Beer and red wine, partial to a cup of tea though.

BS: Thanks and good luck.
