John Chasey, Caterham 7 driver in Quaife Intermarque Championship, class C, age 42.

BARC SEC: Ok green flags – lets go: how did your adventure with motorsport get started?
John Chasey: Did a racing course at Silverstone, caught the bug and built a Caterham from a kit. Still racing that same car, albeit with some modifications. Generally manage to improve my lap times each year, unfortunately so does everybody else!

BS: You're behind the wheel of your Caterham 7. What is your dream racing car?
J.C.: Jaguar C-Type.

BS: What is your dream motorsport event you want to take part in?
J.C.: Monaco Grand Prix.

BS: Hard braking now – are there any other sport disciplines you're familiar with?
J.C.: I'm a Tottenham Hotspur fan and played veterans rugby until I tore knee ligaments, fortunately it didn't affect my driving.

BS: Racing is on weekends – what are you doing weekdays?
J.C.: Background is in computer games and apps for mobile phones, now also advise/invest in a number of companies including a classic car finance company (Primary Finance Solutions), adventure holiday company (Much Better Adventures) and a sports car company.

BS: Who are your motorsport and non-motorsport heroes?
J.C.: James Hunt and Glenn Hoddle.

BS: What are your expectations for 2013?
J.C.: Hoping we get some more entries into Class C!

BS: Very tricky corner now – imagine there are no cars in the world, what would you do?
J.C.: If engines still existed I understand that ride on lawn mowers can be modified to go quite quickly…

BS: And finish line – it's time for a drink. What's your favorite one?
J.C.: Decent lager or red wine.

BS: Thanks and good luck.

John Chasey
