Changes in noise monitoring for Track Day events

Added: 29th February 2016

The noise monitoring for TRACK DAY events has changed this year. At Brands Hatch the “drive by limit” has been reduced to just 92 decibels on some days. This means that most race prepared vehicles will fail. On the day you get two warnings, after that you are excluded from taking part any further. At Lydden the static limit is 100 decibels, which again is proving difficult for most race cars to comply with. Please be aware that you do not get a refund if your car fails the various noise tests.

Important information regarding Track Days noise limits

Added: 29th February 2016

The MSA do not govern track days, only race days. The noise limit set at Brands Hatch and other circuits, for track days, appears to openly discourage race cars. Our warning is so that you don’t waste money, as you will NOT get a refund. The situation is that most cars (including race cars) will pass the static test, which is still 105 decibels. However, because the on track drive by limit is so low you will most likely fail this. Once you have gone on to the circuit they can keep your money. We know this is sneaky hence the warning.

As a footnote the MSA do not set a drive by noise limit so you should not have a problem when racing with us.
